If only I could stop second-guessing myself.

When working on a project, it could be done faster if I just stop being my own worst enemy and realize I’m not perfect, I will make mistakes, and it’s not the end of the world. I’ll be sharing my projects on my Fashyou.blog This will be a new chapter where criticism will occur, I’ll run with it and learn to use it for my personal growth, I do what makes me happy. The only thing that can stop me is me, the Lord does not give us the spirit of fear.

Sew What!

Sew What! Let me tell you Sew What I refuse to allow sewing to become a dying art. This going to tell my age, do you remember Home economics classes where sewing and cooking classes was part of our curriculum? In my junior high school years at Walton junior high school Compton, California I took sewing and cooking classes and I loved each of them, I was sewing before I started junior high school. I can remember sewing clothes for my Barbie and making my first pair of shorts. Sewing was my outlet I spent many hours making doll clothes. Before I graduated from high school I knew fashion design was my love I then attended Brooks College and graduated with a degree in Fashion Design its been apart of my life for over fifty years and I want to share my love for sewing with others.

This summer I’ll be holding a free SEW WHAT summer sewing class on line, August 14, 2021. Parents if you have a child between the ages 9-12 that would be interested in the class please fill out the application and let them tell a little something about their desire to learn to sew,10 applicants will be chosen.

Fashion Inspired from the Motherland!

There will always be a connection with Africa the Motherland the continent of the oldest inhabited and second largest. Let‘s take a trip around the world to see what has inspired, Hair Styles, Fashion, Makeup and Jewelry, don’t forget the love of bold prints and colors, all the different hues of greens, yellows, blues and reds, lime green and yellow seems to be a happy staple color from the Motherland. The cultural styles speaks for themselves from one tribe to another they all scream we’re proud, to be who we are the Kings and Queens of this world, with our happy levels of laughter the dancing in our feet, the strength in our determination to survive for the love of family and self. May the history of kings and queens live on through the lineage through out the world.
